MEET THE ARTIST
Hailing from Huntington Beach, CA, INFJ Kenzo makes music on another level, because he simply is on one. After initiating CPR on a 16-year-old girl who was overdosing on fentanyl, he realized what mattered in life – helping others. Music has been the best way he knows how, and his brand of Hip-Hop is charged with an energy that has seen him climbing his way to the top, and bringing others along with him. For INFJ Kenzo, music isn’t the end game, but only part of the journey of lifting up those around him.
January 2022 saw the debut of his musical seed, a frightening and inimitable Alternative Hip-Hop sound that unfolded like a psychoanalysis of the darkest parts of his inner sanctum. Soon after debuting his first song, ‘Overblown,’ INFJ KENZO landed collaborations with The Critically Acclaimed Death Row Records E.P.
Darren Vegas, whose productions have earned him 3 #1 Billboard Hot 100 Albums with the likes of Snoop Dogg, 2Pac, and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.
Today, his sound stretches the limits of Hip-Hop, grounded in honest, faith-based Rap while echoing a broad range of other styles. From Pop Rap to Emo Rap, and featuring plenty of organic instrumentation, INFJ Kenzo’s music steers clear of well-defined labels and genres.
INFJ Kenzo’s upbringing had its fair share of moves. He was born in Santa Monica, and was raised in Kansas City, MO, Fort ‘Dirty’ Dodge, Iowa, and Des Moines, IA. Known as the perennial “loser class clown” by his peers, his future was unclear at the time, but that was all to change. Once a confused kid going nowhere fast, INFJ Kenzo is now on a clear path to achieving his goals through his musical gifts. He doesn’t feel that such a turnaround is unique to him – he genuinely believes that music can pull anyone out of a dark place, and he aims to be the one creating that music.
Outside of music, he’s a Senior English literature Major studying Latin & Greek at a Lutheran university, and also managing his own brand OTAON x Entertainment and its subsidiaries OTAON x Streetwear. With his mind on the prize, he has his sights set on creating great jobs for great people, while giving the most value to those around him.
“I care more about the people around me and building them up than anything, which is why I’ll never live up to my talent. It’s not about me at all. But truthfully, I love the journey. Smell the roses, enjoy what makes life worth living” – INFJ Kenzo
